How we collect, use, and protect your data. We aim to collect the minimum needed to write your name well.
Who we are
KANJI INK (operated by LUDO LLC) provides a free name→kanji tool and a paid curation service, THE NATIVE CURATOR. Contact us at support@kanjiink.com. Our 特定商取引法 disclosure is here.
What we collect
- The name you type into the free converter, and the name, desired reading, feeling, and story you submit to the Curator.
- Your email address (to deliver your reading and receipt).
- Payment details are entered on Stripe’s checkout — we never see or store your card number.
- Basic, privacy-first usage analytics (see “Analytics” below).
How we use it
To produce and deliver your kanji reading, send your receipt and service emails, provide customer support, meet our legal and accounting obligations, and improve the product in aggregate. We do not sell your personal data.
Processors we rely on
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Supabase — secure database for your request and order.
- Resend — delivery of your reading and transactional email.
- Anthropic (Claude)— powers the free name→kanji converter. The name you type is sent for conversion; your Curator story is composed by a person, not sent to AI.
- PostHog— privacy-first product analytics (session recording is disabled; we honor Do Not Track).
- Vercel — application hosting.
Analytics & cookies
We use PostHog for lightweight analytics. Session recording is turned off, and we respect your browser's Do Not Track setting — if it is enabled, we do not load analytics. Analytics may set a first-party cookie to count visits; you can block cookies in your browser without affecting the core service.
Retention
We keep your request and order records for as long as needed to deliver the service and to satisfy legal/accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize them. Aggregated analytics contain no directly identifying information.
International transfers
Some processors above operate outside Japan. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on those providers' standard safeguards.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent for analytics at any time. Email support@kanjiink.com and we will respond promptly.
